Trees and Palmettos lining the Folly River

Travelling back behind Folly Island by boat should be considered only by those with experience and those with accurate GPS location systems, as many have become lost in the labyrinth of creeks and low islands commonly found here. Courageous and knowledgeable explorers, however, may find an abundance of raw maritime scenery here that is quite close to relatively easy access.

These trees generally include Scrub Oak, Red Cedar and Palmettos which  are living just above the "high-water line" in amongst the abundant salt marsh.
