Sunset at Rockville 24 X 18"

As one drives the long road down to Rockville on Maybank Highway, crossing the Stono, then Church Creek onto Wadmalaw Island, you must bear left at the Bear's Bluff fork to eventually reach this old quite little town on the Bohicket River. Just before reaching the dead end barrier at the Bohicket , there is a sandy well worn road on your right which eventually ends at the Sea Island Yacht Club. Just at the last turn, the road takes an abrupt left to see the "Hall" as the yacht club structure is locally known. Standing at that turn, if one looks over the marsh west towards Johnny Maybank's Island, and further off,  Adams Creek, the North Edisto , and eventually the Dawhoo Bridge can be seen.

Sunsets heighten the landscape's features here as the sinking sun cuts through the heavy atmosphere. Pinks, oranges , purples, and greens flash about transiently as the sun catches the different layers of atmosphere.
