Sunset at Mosquito Creek 30 X 40"
In the Autumn, the marsh takes on an orange color in the late afternoon on Mosquito creek off the South Edisto River. The sinking sun turns yellow-orange in color and shines brightly on the west- facing stands of pine here. The sky becomes deep aquamarine and gives the gently moving river water a beautiful glow. Sounds normally so loud, seem to disappear into a vacuum such that even the ripples of the water pushing around pilings in the water can be heard. Birds fly over, seeking their night perches and water birds make hurried last attempts for a late afternoon snack before the sunshine fades.
