Sun Rising over South Santee 16 X 20"
This scene at the South Santee Bridge on 17 north heading to Georgetown does not require an elaborate travel plan. Since this is a summer morning sunrise viewing of the South Santee and the "middle Ground" between the two rivers, one must , however, rise very early and drive an hour north to witness this scene.
Cypress, Pine, and Red Cedar predominate here in a sea of various grasses. The water lazily glides beneath the bridge going to the inlet on outgoing tides. Further inland water glides in and out of ancient canals built hundreds of years ago for the cultivation of rice.
This 16 X 20" mostly oil painting with touches of acrylic is about 2 pounds in weight.
