Late Afternoon on the greenway at the Clemson Research Facility 18 X 24"
The West Ashley Greenway runs parallel to Highway 17 south and is increasingly popular with joggers, cyclists and stroller/walkers who want a taste of nearby lowcountry nature while exercising. Though it crosses many busy neighborhood streets as it heads from South Windermere out towards the Limehouse Bridge. Eventually it ends in a beautifully , recently managed park, complete with a remarkably well built bridge to an island resting adjacent to the Stono River. From dawn to dusk this greenway reveals multiple quiet creeks and tidal rivers throughout.
This acrylic painting was done looking out on to the afternoon color of the Clemson Agricultural Research fields while walking along the greenway. It is 18" X 24" and weighs about a pound and a quarter
