Creek and Marsh North Kiawah 16 X 20"
As the creeks off the Stono River and Kiawah River branch off, many wind their way into the dense maritime forest on the north end of Kiawah. Most often abundant acres of grass separates the creek from the island itself, but occasionally, the path is close and narrow as in this creek, leaving areas of mottled sunny areas of water and marsh adjacent to the dense forest foliage. Such is the case here as a trickle of water winds in, passing through stands of grass. Raccoons love this setting and footprints and animal paths crisscross in the soft sandy mud.
