Spadefish

Taking young fishermen out to 4KI artificial reef off Kiawah Island in the Spring with light fishing tackle and an assortment of various baits in clear waters can create a very memorable expedition. If the Spadefish are numerous, fishing excitement prevails making for 'taught lines" and thrilling sport, as they can "put up quite a fight" by using their broad sides to their advantage. As many a successful fisherman will tell you, they also are delicious to eat.
