Ashepoo with yellow-orange sky 4' X 5' Acrylic

This scene was taken along the Bennet's Point Road beyond the Ashepoo Bridge on a late summer afternoon when the sun is in a deep haze , turning the horizon orange. Near the ground, however, light blue and purple hues come off the misty forest areas in the middle ground. The tall grasses are now in fully mature seed form and the yellow sun shines right though the seed stalk. Beyond the trees lies the Ashepoo River as it heads down to join the Intercoastal Waterway just below the Fenwick Island "cut through".

Although the colors are warm, the season is changing as Autumn advances, bring cool temperatures to the flood plain.
