For those who frequent this site, Bennet's Point Road is a well known location for beautiful lowcountry scenery. The road cuts right through the old rice fields as the black water moves in and out with the tidal pressure. These areas were heavily forested by cypress swamps prior to the cultivation of Carolina Gold Rice in the early 18th century.
